It's home to the urban centre of Sherwood Park, plus a large rural area with farms, acreages and beautiful natural areas.
We also have eight rural hamlets: Antler Lake, Ardrossan, Collingwood Cove, North Cooking, Lake, South Cooking Lake, Half Moon Lake, Hastings Lake and Josephburg.
Strathcona County is classified as a specialized municipality by the Province of Alberta because of its rural and urban blend.
